It’s NYFW! I’m especially inspired by the sustainable fashion efforts undertaken by NYC brands and organizations, some of which have ways for you to get involved or are hosting fashion shows this week! Those who know me know that I went to school for fashion design and had a sustainable fashion brand years ago with one of my close high school friends. I love seeing this industry evolve, like the Reclypt + FABSCRAP merger. Speaking of FABSCRAP, they need hands to move 500 bags of textiles this week. See below to register and pitch in!

SEP 9 - [MNHTN] Volunteer at The Sustainable Fashion Community Center - East Harlem, 1-4 pm, volunteer. “Spend 3 hours sorting, hanging, organizing, and if you've got some skillz using those to help out this wonderful community of advocates, activities, and small business owners.” Register here.
SEP 10 - [MNHTN] Jenny's Garden Clean Up, 1-3 pm, volunteer. “Jenny's Garden (also known as Riverside Valley Community Garden) is a living example of collective, community-based agriculture within an urban landscape. Come help us pick up trash and do some light weeding in this beautiful vegetable garden!” Register here.

SEP 13 - [MNHTN] Goat Patrol at W 143rd St!, 1-3 pm, volunteer. “This summer, we have 4 goats eating invasive species. Let's make sure their area is free of trash!” Register here.
SEP 14 - [BX] Soundview Restoration Day, 10 am-2 pm, volunteer. “Volunteers can participate in a few different ways to help restore natural habitat in our community: litter cleanup, invasive species removal, and native species planting. There will also be giveaways, food, and fun activities for folks looking to give back while celebrating our waterfront park.” Register here.
