Saturday is World Ocean Day and this year’s theme is Catalyzing Action for Our Ocean & Climate! There are clean-up events in Brooklyn and a celebration taking place in Manhattan. Let’s cross our fingers for some more perfect spring weather! See you back here next week.

JUN 3 - [MNHTN] Volunteer in Fort Washington Park, 8:30-11 am, volunteer. “During this event, we'll be working together to clean up the park, do some weeding, and maintain the tennis courts and soccer fields.” RSVP here.
JUN 3 - [BX] Pitch in to Pick Up, 10 am-12 pm, volunteer. “Your efforts not only protect wildlife & the rest of the Bronx River ecosystem, but they also help us identify the sources of trash so we can stop the pollution where it starts!” More info here.
JUN 7 - [BX] Forest Restoration Fridays | Van Cortlandt Park, 9 am-12 pm, volunteer. “Experience the last weeks of spring in the forest by helping us remove invasive species like multi-flora rose and bittersweet.” RSVP here.
JUN 7 - [BX] Tree Planting in Shoelace Park, 10 am-12 pm. volunteer. “Help preserve vital habitat along the river by planting native trees In Shoelace park!” More info here.

JUN 8 - [BK] Plumb Beach Clean Up, 3:30-6 pm, volunteer. “Join NYC H2O and Jamaica Bay Rockaway Parks Conservancy for a Volunteer Cleanup at Plumb Beach!” RSVP here.

JUN 5 - [MNHTN] Climate Cafe Union Square, 7-9 pm, $5 suggested donation. “This month, the cafe lands on in 'World Environment Day' - let's take that as an opportunity to reflect on the international nature of the climate crisis, and our emotions relatied to global inequality and global citizenship.” RSVP here.

Events include: Awake in Urban Nature Meditation- Over The East River to Roosevelt Island, Here on Earth Art Lab, Embracing Water: Art of Peace Meditation and Chinese Calligraphy, Moving like Water: Qigong & Taichi, and ClimART Cafe. JUN 8 - [GOV IS] Eco-Poetry Writing Activity on Governors Island, 11 am-1 pm. “Come imagine a healthy future for humans and nature during an eco-poetry writing workshop in the Climate Imaginarium on Governors Island.” RSVP here.
