It’s Halloween week! And then November! Daylight Saving Time ends! How will you be gentle with yourself as you transition into another month and more deeply into the colder and darker midnight of autumn? I hope it involves gently building community. Keep reading for this week’s offerings.

TUESDAY
OCT 29 - [MNHTN] Volunteer at The Sustainable Fashion Community Center - East Harlem, 1-4 pm, volunteer. “Spend 3 hours sorting, hanging, organizing, and if you've got some skillz using those to help out this wonderful community of advocates, activities, and small business owners.” Register here.
WEDNESDAY
OCT 30 - [QNS] Compost, Art, Farm and learn at Rusty Wheelbarrow Farm, 9-11 am, volunteer. “You'll have the chance to work on composting, cultivating the land, planting seeds, tending to the crops, harvesting. Whether you're an experienced gardener or a complete newbie, everyone is welcome!” Register here.
OCT 30 - [BK] FABSCRAP Volunteer Session, 1-4 pm & 6-8 pm, volunteer. “ We need your help to save designer textiles from landfill! As a volunteer, you will sort through fabric samples and swatches, readying them to be saved for reuse. Halloween costumes are encouraged! Wear your FAB costumes and help us celebrate!”

NOV 3 - [MNHTN] Green Oasis Community Garden Volunteer Day, 12:30-1:30 pm, volunteer. “Help us plant new flowers, weed the garden, and make our oasis even more beautiful. No experience necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to get your hands dirty!” Register here.

🎃 NOV 2 - [BK] Shirley Chisholm State Park Guided Fall Hike, 10 am-12 pm. “Join the Education Team for a brisk morning hike around the Fountain side of the park! We will look for the seasonal changes taking place in the grasslands, and keep an eye out for birds and other wildlife.” Register here.
